New Year, New You……..Riiiigghhhtttt!!!!!

Happy New Year – Welcome 2016!
I don’t know about you but since having a child (he is now 7) I have found that the years absolutely fly by! Time goes so quick, it only seems like yesterday we just got over Christmas in 2014 and started 2015. Having said that I am so EXCITED about the year 2016 and everything its going to bring!
Tis the time for new years resolutions! Have you set yours yet?
Research shows that most people choose their resolutions in the “weight loss” area, (in fact you are probably on this website because you are wondering if Isagenix can help you kick start the new year.) As part of the new resolution, people go onto buy yearly gym memberships, then they need new gym clothes and of course new gym shoes – can’t go to the gym and not ‘look’ the part now can we?? Along with that the new gym bag and water bottle.
So we start off with great intentions, we start counting calories, eating salads, keeping away from sugar, alcohol and wheat. Gyming it with crazy cardio for 2 hours 5 days a week. Then……. all of a sudden, around 5-6 weeks into it…. we start to head back into old habits. Our mind starts to take over, in a not so helpful way. Things start getting too hard, the results aren’t coming as fast as you like. You even decide that maybe you need to go to the gym 6 days a week, so you increase that. You become tired, and in the end just can’t be bothered, because quite frankly this losing weight and getting healthy thing is
not as much fun as you thought it would be! And so the cycle continues, until next year in January 1 2017.
So I have a message here for you if you fit the above scenario, because for many years I WAS that above scenario. It’s hard. It’s going to get harder, and it will hurt and it will feel at times not worth it – that’s what your mind wants you to think. It’s important to be very specific about your new years resolution, and to really ask yourself why it is so important to you to achieve. What I find really easy is to adopt a New Years Healthy Lifestyle, rather than a resolution, because I want the change to be an ever lasting and permanent lifestyle change, not short lived. I also choose something that is very achievable, but does stretch me.
Once I have decided what I want, I then set myself some mini goals to keep me on track. Then I look at my environment, and what kinds of supportive people are around me to help me celebrate my successes or help me get through the low times. Hate to say it but some people in our lives if they are not supportive of your goals, then maybe it’s time to move them on. Toxic people can really sabotage your efforts, if you let them. So find yourself some really great people you can confide in and who will gladly cheer you on.
My most important piece of advice is this: Refuse To Give Up. If you stuff up one day, make up for it the next. Remember that 80% of your weight loss success is going to come from the nutrition you put in your body – you get that right and most of the job is done! Exercise forms only 20% – remember that when you are slogging it out on the treadmill for 6o minutes at a time. What you put in your mouth every meal time is what is ultimately going to make the difference of where you are now and where you want to be.

Focus on your goals, look at them everyday. Don’t beat yourself up and think it’s all over if you make one little mistake, just get back up and start again – in 12 months you will be thanking yourself.
No one else is going to look after your body – only you can do that.
Have a great start to 2016. I hope you found this post helpful. I have been a bit slack over the last few months with my posts on here, and that is going to change 🙂 Be on the look out for regular weekly posts and videos on general wellbeing tips as well as Isagenix stuff.
See you next time…..toodle ooo!
